Year 6/7 - Students begin their journey into Manual Arts or Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) in Year 6. This is undertaken as a combined 6/7 class. This overall group will be divided into 2 groups. Each group will enjoy 6 months in the workshops with one lesson per week.

Students are taught safety, basic knowledge of materials and correct use of hand tools such as hammer, chisel and tin snips. Students will predominately work with timber, tin and acrylic.
Year 8 – This class has the whole year to further develop their skills with 2 lessons per week. Units covered are graphics (including drawing boards and computer graphics), wood work on tables and boxes and metal work with the major focus on constructing a tool box. Development of knowledge in relation to techniques, tool use and jointing is the major focus. As always, safety is of prime importance and this is continually stressed to the students.
Year 9/10 – This is a combined class and topics covered are completed over a 2 year rotation. In Year A students work through: A welding project, a design project, working on small engines and CO2 cars. Year B students undertake a wood project, a welding project, a design project and an electric car. All units have a theory component which primarily will enhance understanding of processes and equipment.
Year 11/12 - Cert II in Engineering. Students need to complete units of work (theory and practical) totally at least 30 points. Each unit is allocated certain points depending on how much is involved. For example Undertake Manual Handling is worth 2 points and Perform Engineering Measurements is 5 points. Acknowledgement will be made for all units completed successfully, ideally resulting in a Certificate II in Engineering.
