Continuing to develop their fundaments making skills and responding knowledge throughout their middle phase school where students study Visual Art in more depth, learning about the history of art and how to apply this to the contemporary art culture today.
In senior secondary students can specialise in General subjects of Visual Arts or can choose Applied pathways in Visual Arts in Practice. It is at this stage of students study that they have the skills and knowledge to create their own personal aesthetic.

Blackall State School is also heavily involved in community arts projects and organisations to give students practical skills in the art industry to give them real life arts experiences.
